1. Who these terms are between
These terms are between you and CoreProofAI, a survey and design software business in Australia. No company has been registered yet, so there is no company name, ACN or ABN to name here:
LEGAL ENTITY — NOT YET REGISTERED ACN — NONE ABN — NONE
By using this website, or by installing or using CoreProof Field, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use them — and there is no cost to walking away, because there is nothing to cancel and no money involved.
How we handle personal information is a separate document: the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
2. What CoreProof Field is — and what it is not
CoreProof Field is a drawing, capture and reporting tool. It helps you draw a measured floor plan, mark up works, take and annotate photographs, keep notes and a register, and export a report under your own name.
Two consequences worth stating plainly, because both have bitten people using other tools:
- A measurement is only as good as the scale you set. The app draws to scale and prints dimensions, but the scale comes from what you calibrate or what an imported drawing declares. Check it before you quote off it.
- The app records what you tell it. It does not know whether a room was actually inspected, and it will happily print an empty register. Reviewing the export before you send it is your job, and no button in the app replaces it.
3. It is free, and there is nothing to buy yet
CoreProof Field is released free. We take no payment, hold no card details and run no subscription today, which is why this document is terms of use and not terms of sale.
The free tier has limits, and they are described on the pricing page rather than buried here: a cap on how many sites are active at once, and a CoreProof Field mark on PDF exports.
A paid tier (Pro) is planned. If and when it is released it will come with its own terms covering payment, refunds and cancellation, and you will be asked to agree to them at that point. Nothing on this page commits you to anything payable, and no price stated anywhere on this website is an offer for sale.
4. Your account
- An account is personal to one human being. Do not share your sign-in with somebody else; give them their own, it is free.
- Give a real email address you can actually receive mail at. It is the only way we can reach you, and the only way a password can be reset.
- Keep your password to yourself. We cannot see it and cannot recover it — a forgotten password is reset, never retrieved.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account. If you think somebody else has got into it, tell us at support@coreproofai.com and change the password.
- You must be old enough to enter a contract in your own right. If you are using the app for an employer, you are telling us you are allowed to agree to these terms on their behalf.
5. Acceptable use
The short version: use it for real work, do not attack it, and do not use it to harm anyone.
Do not:
- break the law with it, or use it to help somebody else break the law;
- use it to harass, stalk or surveil a person — the app captures photographs and positions, and that is for documenting a site, not for following anybody;
- photograph or survey property you have no right to be on or no right to record;
- attempt to reach another account's data, probe or attack the service, or get around a limit that applies to your tier — including removing or obscuring the CoreProof Field mark on a free export;
- resell the app, rent access to it, or pass your account around a crew as a shared login;
- copy, decompile or reverse-engineer the app except to the extent the law says you may despite this clause;
- upload a logo you do not have the right to use;
- put a script, exploit or deliberately malformed file into the app to see what happens on our side.
If you find a security problem, please tell us at support@coreproofai.com rather than demonstrating it on somebody else's account. We will not treat a good-faith report as a breach of these terms.
6. Your work is yours
That is a design decision, not just a promise: your survey work stays on your device, and none of it is uploaded to us today. See the Privacy Policy, section 4, which states the position exactly.
One thing is built and switched off, and we would rather tell you than have you find it. There is a cloud-backup mechanism in the app, intended for a future paid tier, that would upload a site's own backup file (the whole site, photographs included) to private, per-account storage. Two separate things hold it shut, and both are shut today. The storage it needs does not exist, so there is nowhere for a backup to go: nothing is queued and nothing is sent, by anyone. And the switch that turns it on now exists in the app, on the Settings screen, off on every device until the person using that device turns it on, so the day that storage is created a device nobody has switched on still sends nothing. Turning it on is your choice and stays your choice, and any change to that would be described in the Privacy Policy first — not a quiet flick of a switch, and not a change to what this section means for work you have already done.
The one exception, and it is narrow. If you fill in your report profile — your name, company, contact details, brand colour and logo — you are asking us to store it so it follows you to another device. For that, and only for that, you give us permission to store your logo and profile details and to send them back to your own devices. We do not use them for anything else, we do not publish them, and deleting them ends that permission.
You are responsible for what you capture. You must have the right to be on a site, to photograph it, and to record what you record. If your work captures other people's personal information, you are the one handling it and the obligations are yours.
Keep your own copies. We hold no copy of your work today, so we cannot restore it. A lost, wiped or broken device means lost work unless you have exported it. Export your sites — and keep doing so even if a backup feature is switched on later, because a backup you did not choose to make is not a copy you should be relying on.
7. What stays ours
The app itself, its code, its design, its documentation, and the CoreProofAI and CoreProof Field names and marks stay ours. Using the app does not transfer any of that to you.
What you get is permission to use the app for your own work — a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it in the ordinary way, for as long as these terms are in force. Nothing more, and nothing less.
The CoreProof Field mark on a free export is part of what makes a free tier possible. Removing it by editing the file, or by any other means, is not permitted; removing it legitimately is what Pro is for.
8. As-is, and your rights under Australian Consumer Law
Subject to that, and stated honestly rather than defensively:
- CoreProof Field is early software, provided as-is. It is a first release of a free tool. It will have bugs. We do not promise it is error-free, that a particular feature will keep working the way it works today, or that it will suit a particular job you have in mind.
- We do not promise uptime. There is no service level, no support hours and no guaranteed response time at this stage. The good news is that the app is built to run offline: once installed and signed in, the parts you use on site do not depend on us being up.
- We do not promise the app is a complete record. It records what you put into it.
- We are not your backup. We hold no copy of your work today, so we cannot lose it and we cannot return it. If a backup feature is ever switched on and you turn it on, it is a convenience and not a service level: we still do not promise to hold, keep or return anything. Section 6 says what is built and why it does nothing.
Where the law permits us to limit what we do about a failure, and where the failure is not one of a kind the law treats as major, our responsibility is limited to supplying the service again or fixing the problem.
9. Liability
Subject in every respect to section 8, and to the extent the law allows:
- we are not responsible for a decision you make on the basis of a document produced with the app — the professional judgement in it is yours;
- we are not responsible for work lost from a device we never had a copy of;
- we are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits or lost contracts.
None of that is an attempt to escape a real failure on our part, and none of it applies where the law says it cannot.
10. Closing an account
You can close yours at any time. Email support@coreproofai.com and we will delete, within 30 days: the account (the email address and hashed password you signed up with); the profile stored with it — display name, company, the phone, email and website for your letterhead, and your brand colour; and the logo you uploaded, together with any cloud backup stored under your account. You do not have to give a reason.
Today that is done by hand. The service that would perform a deletion from inside the app is not switched on yet, so closing an account is a request to a person rather than something the app can complete. The 30 days above is what we commit to, and it runs from when you ask — your right to close the account has never depended on our software working.
We can close one too, and we will say why. Realistically that means a serious or repeated breach of section 5 — attacking the service, going after other people's accounts, or using the app to harm somebody. Where the problem is fixable we will ask you to fix it first.
If we ever discontinue CoreProof Field entirely, we will give reasonable notice so that you can export what you need.
11. Changes to the app and to these terms
The app will change: features get added, and occasionally one changes shape or goes away. We will not silently remove your ability to open and export a site you have already created.
These terms will change too. The version and date at the top say which one you are reading. If a change materially reduces your rights, and we hold your email address, we will email you before it takes effect rather than quietly republishing the page. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new version; if you do not, close the account — your work stays yours either way.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of STATE OR TERRITORY — NOT YET CHOSEN, Australia, and the courts of that place have jurisdiction — without taking away any right you have to bring a matter where the law says you may.
The jurisdiction is left as a placeholder on purpose. It follows where the company is registered, and no company exists yet. Filling it in with a plausible guess would be worse than leaving it visible.
13. Contact
Questions about these terms, and everything else, go to the same inbox, and a person reads it.
There is no postal address to give you yet, for the same reason there is no ACN: REGISTERED ADDRESS — NONE YET
